Warehouse/Prep

  • Place molded platform into pallet with wedge shaped protrusions facing down.

  • Split up to half a pallet of shingles directly onto platform/pallet. In many cases a pallet splitter may be used for this purpose.

    • Maximum of 6 rows of bundles.

    • Whenever possible, consult with builder to determine load rating of roof.

      • Assessment of structural roof load limits are the responsibility of ShinglePilot user.

    • Split pallets on a flat/level surface.

  • Foam wedge support blocks are required for IKO and other larger/heavier brands of shingles when stacked in OEM cross-stacking orientation.

    • If foam blocks are not used: IKO and similar oversized bundles must be stacked in a uni-directional configuration.

    • If foam blocks are not used: Any delivery for roof pitch 8/12 and over must be stacked in a uni-directional configuration.

    • Bundles must be centered on the pallet.

    • When stacking 3-per-row bundles, ensure bottom row is positioned perpendicular to the roof peak.

    • When it is not feasible to split a pallet and/or hand-stacking is necessary, stack all shingles in the same direction, perpendicular to the ridge.

  • Shrink-wrap bundles

    • Place plastic topper on top of the bundle of shingles.

    • Ensure shrink-wrap covers all bundles, being sure to fully cover the bottom row.

    • Ensure shrink-wrap is placed over the top of the bundles as well as on the sides.

    • Minimum of 6 layers of shrink wrap.

  • Apply de-stacking instruction stickers/decals to each side of load (2 stickers per pallet minimum)

  • Load truck in preparation for job-site delivery.

    • Stack no more than 3 pallets high (5000 lb max).
